Amy Amy Janet JanetAubrey Plaza, born June 26, 1984, is an actor and comedian recognized for her deadpan style of humor. Her character is April Ludgate on "Parks and Recreation." After performing the improv show and sketch comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, Plaza created her first web series debut with "The Jeannie Tate Show." The show went on to be a part of Judd Apatow's "Funny People" and "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" later in her professional career. Today is her birthday. Aubrey Christina Plaza was born in Wilmington, Delaware, the daughter of an attorney, Bernadette Plaza, and finance specialist David Plaza. She is a Puerto Rican and her mother is Irish, English and Irish. Plaza was educated at an all-girls Catholic institution in the year 2002, as well as the Tisch School of the Arts located at New York University in 2006. As a senior in the high school she was the President of the Student Council at her school and performed in Wilmington Drama League performances. Plaza had a stroke back in 2004 as she was entering her final year of her career. The stroke caused her to develop expressive aphasia, and experienced an ephemeral period of weakness. Plaza is now recovering.
