Her achievements as a young performer in America (which we refer to as Maureen O'Hara today) would have definitely put her into the category of child prodigies. A child of Irish origins, who was surrounded her by talented parents and family members did this naturally. Maureen was welcomed into the family-oriented home on the 17th of August 20, in Ranelagh. Her mother, Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons, was an accomplished contralto. His father, Charles FitzSimons, managed a business in Dublin as well as owned a part of the famous Irish soccer club "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons was the daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons completed this lovely family. Maureen loved playing rough sports when she was an infant and was extremely proficient in them. She combined this interest with an equally natural gift of performing. It was evident that she was the winner of every Feis in drama and theatre the Irish had to offer. She was accepted at the Abbey Theater by age 14 She then continued to pursue her dream of opera as well as classical theater and singing.
